Laboratory Testing
at Greater Boston Urology
Greater Boston Urology (GBU) operates a state-of-the-art, urology-focused laboratory that is both CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited, ensuring the highest standards in diagnostic testing and patient care. Established in 2012, our in-house laboratory was designed specifically to deliver advanced anatomic and molecular testing with a focus on urologic conditions.
Our comprehensive test menu includes Anatomic Pathology, Cytology, Chemistry, Immunoassay, Hematology, and PCR testing, all performed at our Framingham, Massachusetts location. By specializing exclusively in urologic pathology, our highly trained pathologists and laboratory staff bring deep expertise and precision to every specimen they analyze.
A key advantage of our in-house laboratory is the complete chain of custody and communication. From specimen collection to processing, interpretation, and direct consultation between pathologists and urologists, every step is carefully managed within our practice. This integrated approach reduces the risk of errors commonly associated with outsourced labs and ensures timely, accurate results.
In addition, our investment in advanced technology allows us to offer cutting-edge diagnostic testing, including specialized assays such as urine FISH and PTEN analysis. These capabilities enable more precise diagnoses and support personalized treatment planning for our patients.
At GBU, our laboratory is recognized for its commitment to quality, innovation, and best practices—delivering reliable results you and your physician can trust.
